Recording realistic audio on your GoPro in a loud aircraft cockpit can be challenging. The problem is that the camera either records with the built in mic and the engine sound is so much louder than your voice that you only hear engine sound. Or you plug your GoPro into the aircraft intercom, and all the GoPro records is the audio on the intercom system, and you hear no engine sound at all. In your headset however, your ears hear both the intercom audio and the engine sound that is muffled by the headset. To get audio on your video that sounds like what you heard thru your headset you have to record the intercom audio on your GoPro and then record the engine sound separately, either with a second GoPro, or record the engine sound at another time. When you edit your video you use the engine sound as a second sound track, adjusting the volume until the “mixed” sounds realistic. This video shows you how it’s done.
